Here, There, Nowhere

"Here, There, Nowhere" delves into the whirlwind of emotions that accompany displacement, doubt, and the elusive question of home. As I've moved from place to place, I constantly feel the magnetic pulls in opposite directions, to return to the familiar or venture into the unknown. I imagine the possibilities of living in various places across parallel universes and contemplate what my life might look like in each scenario. It's a tug-of-war between the thrill of an adventurous life without limits and the deep yearning to reconnect with my culture and family that I long for.

Each piece showcases two 35mm negatives, photographs of distinct locations I might consider home. Digital manipulation brought this film to life, enhancing their moods, vibrancy, and the rich undertones of nostalgia that resonate within them. I chose to mount them on aluminum, as framing them would feel too confining, robbing them of the free-spirited essence that embodies my journey.
